About the Role

Premier Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Imaging Tech Assistant to join our team at MVH. This part-time role offers varied hours and is crucial for providing essential support within the Medical Imaging department. You will play a key role in patient care and departmental operations, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide transport services for patients of all ages to and from referral points within the hospital.
• Assist staff technologists with technical and non-technical functions, including room turnover, stocking, and inventory management.
• Reproduce images using CDs/Film for patients, physicians, and radiologists.
• Create and maintain a positive impression of Premier Health through proactive, friendly, and professional customer service.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition.
• Perform clerical duties or assist in other areas as departmental needs dictate.
• Escort/transport patients via cart, bed, or wheelchair, and route patients and paperwork.
• Provide physical assistance to staff in patient transfers (lifting).
• Operate computerized systems for patient information updates, transportation needs identification, and automated patient tracking.
• Assist patients with personal needs (ambulation, restroom, bedpan) and communicate special needs to nursing or technical staff.
• Utilize effective communication skills, demonstrating respect, concern, and courtesy.
• Provide basic patient care with dignity and respect.
• Participate in routine equipment care and cleaning; report faulty or damaged equipment.
• Maintain current inventory of supplies and assist supervisors with ordering and par levels.
• Handle customer phone calls.
• Assist technologists with procedure room turnaround, including linen management and equipment cleaning.
• Assist technologists in preparing patients for tests.

Requirements

• Education: High School completion / GED required.
• Licensure/Certification: CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Experience: No prior job-related work experience required. One year of experience in a medical/patient care environment is preferred.
• Skills:
• Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Proficient in applicable computer applications.
• Knowledge of radiation safety.
• Knowledge of MRI safety.
