Job Description: Associate (Utilities Sector)
We have exciting opportunities within the utilities sector for Associates to join our expanding team. Following significant growth and ongoing delivery success, we are seeking high-caliber project professionals to support clients in delivering a wide range of high-profile infrastructure projects. You will be a leader in the industry, mentoring and developing the next generation of Project Managers. Based in our London office, you will work with colleagues and client teams across the South-East region, with most roles supporting a hybrid working pattern. Associates at Turner & Townsend:
We work on a broad range of projects and programs across the Utilities sector, including water treatment, mains installation/replacement, environmental improvements, asset management, and developer services. We are looking for individuals with the following skills, experience, and behavioral attributes:
- Substantial experience in infrastructure project/programme management across the lifecycle, including project management principles, client objective delivery, contract/budget management, leadership, teamwork, financial management, project controls, schedule management, benefits alignment, HSQE management, and status reporting. Good understanding and practical application of CDM.
- Excellent leadership skills, capable of developing teams and leading others in challenging environments, and identifying/addressing capability gaps.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, comfortable building trusted advisor relationships with diverse clients and organizations.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and numerical skills to understand complex issues and shape workable solutions.
- Drive and commitment to achieving solutions, ability to work under pressure, and motivate others.
- Ability to create, manage, and modify project/programme plans.
- Effective planning, communication, and organizational skills, managing multiple workstreams and communicating with senior client representatives and your team.

Qualifications:
Beneficial Experience:
- Experience in utilities/water infrastructure project and/or programme management.
- Experience with procurement and managing NEC contracts.
- High level of commercial awareness.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, managing contractors, consultants, and advisors on infrastructure projects.
- Experience in consultancy or client-side project management.
- Familiarity with public sector organizations relevant to infrastructure.
- Delivery within challenging operational environments.
- Proven experience across the full project lifecycle.
- Experience working and reporting in challenging stakeholder and regulatory environments.
Preferable Qualifications:
- Degree qualification in a management, construction, or infrastructure-related subject, or equivalent experience.
- Professional affiliation with APM, ICE, or an equivalent institution.
- Project management certification (e.g., APM / PRINCE2 / MSP).
- NEC Accreditations or qualifications.
- CSCS / equivalent.
- NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualifications.
- CDM awareness.
