DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

SafeNow is a Munich-based startup on a mission to provide free safety solutions worldwide via an app connecting users with friends, family, or professional responders. They are a diverse team of 50 from 9 countries, seeking a passionate DevOps Engineer to evolve their AWS-based infrastructure.

Your Tasks

• Operate and evolve the AWS-based infrastructure for security, scalability, and high availability.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and ensure smooth operation of all services.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Monitor systems using Grafana and Prometheus, and respond effectively to incidents.
• Advocate for DevOps best practices and shape the operational culture.
• Collaborate closely with developers and QA to continuously improve the platform.

Your Requirements

• Full-time DevOps Engineer role with a strong Linux background (proficient with tools like curl, jq, awk, sed, iptables, netstat, and vi).
• Strong experience with Kubernetes (own cluster on AWS), Terraform, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Strong experience with AWS services (IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, etc.) and fluent with the AWS CLI.
• Bonus: Experience optimizing PostgreSQL (AWS Aurora).
• Willingness to learn about running backends like Hasura, Kafka, or EMQX; experience is a plus.
• Based in or around Munich (remote work possible).
• Fluent in English; German is a bonus.
