Cost Intelligence, Data & Benchmarking Professional

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company, is expanding its capabilities in providing data-driven commercial insights for major infrastructure programs. They are seeking skilled professionals in Cost Intelligence, Data & Benchmarking to enhance their offerings in the North East & Yorkshire region.

About the Role

This role is designed to leverage project, portfolio, and market cost data to improve the affordability, predictability, and performance of capital infrastructure investment. You will support clients in making informed decisions throughout the asset lifecycle, from business case development to portfolio optimization. The position offers flexibility in location across their Newcastle, Teesside, Sheffield, and Leeds offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and evolve infrastructure cost benchmarks across various sectors.
• Analyze cost performance across assets, programs, and portfolios.
• Identify key cost drivers, trends, and systemic variances.
• Assist with the gathering and sharing of estimating data.
• Support the automated capture, standardization, and governance of cost data.
• Collaborate closely with Digital, Data, and Innovation teams.
• Support the development and promotion of good practice within Turner & Townsend.
• Assist in achieving departmental objectives.
• Stay updated on developments in your technical area to provide best practice advice.

Key Skills

• Strong understanding of infrastructure cost structures and delivery models.
• Experience working with cost data, benchmarks, and analytics on large or complex programs.
• Ability to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.
• Commercial awareness of infrastructure markets.

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure cost management, cost intelligence, benchmarking, or data analytics.
• Background in consultancy, client-side infrastructure organizations, or major contractors is preferred.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Economics, Construction Management, Data Analytics, or a similar field.
• Progress towards or membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
