Senior Developer Advocate - Modern App Development

About the Role

This role is centered around creating AI-assisted tools designed to make Datadog developers significantly more effective. The team focuses on autonomously generating tests, fixing bugs, and improving performance, with the goal of making all Datadog customers "10x developers." You will be a product-minded generalist contributing to defining and shipping these impactful products.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate closely with users, designers, PMs, and data scientists on cutting-edge LLM-based agents.
• Develop prompts, evaluation methods, and agent tools for code manipulation, and engineer systems for production deployment and integration with Datadog products.
• Prototype, test in real-world scenarios, iterate with users, and ship products.
• Stay current with the latest research on LLM prompting, agents, and code editing.
• Partner with other Datadog teams to expand capabilities, such as integrating with Datadog IDE extensions for a CoPilot-like assistant or Dynamic Instrumentation for enhanced runtime data collection.

Who You Are

• A builder with approximately 10+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with experience in early-stage startups and shipping applications from scratch.
• An AI-fluent developer who natively leverages AI coding assistants and rapid-prototyping tools in your daily workflow.
• Multi-stack familiar, comfortable writing and debugging code across multiple programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python) and experienced with deployment paradigms for next-gen platforms and traditional cloud ecosystems.
• An authentic communicator with approximately 3+ years of experience in technical storytelling and community engagement, supported by a portfolio of peer-to-peer artifacts (GitHub repos, blogs, videos, presentations).
• A forward thinker passionate about self-driven exploration of emerging technologies, developer education, and mentorship.

Salary Range

$194,000 - $237,000 USD
