The Mission
We are seeking a Commercial Manager to join our House Builder Team. This sales-focused role (no direct reports) involves identifying sales opportunities, nurturing key relationships, developing a strategic business plan to meet sales budgets, and improving sales process efficiency. You will be responsible for monitoring and achieving KPIs, supporting pricing structures, attending regular meetings, and preparing forecasts.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Trading Director, this high-impact role is crucial for driving growth and profitability with key Housebuilder customers. You will manage and expand partnerships, develop and manage trading agreements, and represent the business at customer events. Your insights will also shape wider sales strategies to deliver sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow sales of external bricks and masonry products in line with ambitious business and budget expectations.
- Develop and execute an effective Business Plan to achieve sales budgets.
- Improve sales process efficiency and monitor, report, and achieve KPIs.
- Support the pricing structure.
- Attend regular meetings across the region and prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts.
- Manage and expand partnerships with key Housebuilder customers and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage trading agreements to maximize outcomes aligned with business objectives.
- Represent the business at customer events and reviews.
- Contribute to shaping the wider sales strategy and defining initiatives for sustainable growth.
Mission-Critical Skills
- Strong experience within the Housebuilder & construction sector, with an existing network of industry contacts.
- Experience in the Bricks & Masonry market (or wider construction industry) is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving profitability.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Expertise in negotiation and contract management.
- Commercially astute with strong financial and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Confident and persuasive with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to quickly learn new ranges and understand routes to market for bricks & masonry.
- Full driving licence required.
