Product Manager (m/f/d) - Energy Market Specialist

Otark is accelerating the energy transition. Our platform serves as the operating system for the procurement of renewable electricity (Solar & Wind), connecting corporate buyers, direct marketers, and traders. We are building the infrastructure for trading, settlement, and certification of green electricity, encompassing everything from a PPA marketplace to a spot exchange and fully automated contract finalization. We are looking for a Product Manager who truly understands the energy market – someone who knows how a PPA works from initiation to settlement, understands balance group management, and ideally, the mechanics behind trading.

Responsibilities

• Product Ownership across Three Products: Take ownership and refine our three core products: the Otark Marketplace (PPA platform), Green SPOT (our spot exchange for green electricity), and 1-Click PPA (fully automated PPA closing). Understand how these products interact and drive their strategic development.
• Translate Energy Domain: Translate the realities of the energy market – PPA settlement, balance group management, spot and futures trading – into clear product requirements. Serve as the interface between the market, customers, and development.
• Customer Discovery with Experts: Conduct in-depth conversations with corporate buyers, direct marketers, and traders. Speak their language to identify the real pain points behind their stated needs.
• Strategy & Roadmap: Act as a "Mini-CEO" for your features, managing them from the initial idea through technical validation to go-live, prioritizing based on genuine market and customer value.
• High-Efficiency Handoff: Collaborate closely with our development team, delivering precisely thought-out, technically validated requirements rather than vague tickets. Where efficiency allows, build prototypes directly (see AI workflow).

Qualifications

• Energy Domain Knowledge (Central): Possess profound experience in the energy market, understanding how the pieces fit together – PPA structures and settlement, balance group management, spot and/or futures trading. While not needing to be a specialist in every detail, you must grasp the overall context.
• Trading & Settlement as a Strong Plus: Experience in electricity trading and settlement is a significant advantage and will strongly enhance your application.
• Product DNA: Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner, bringing products from concept to market. You focus on user problems, not just feature lists.
• Analytical Powerhouse: Possess extremely rapid comprehension and a sharp intellect. You enjoy delving into complex regulatory or trading-related topics and simplifying them.
• AI as a Tool: Open to working with modern AI tools (e.g., Claude Code or comparable AI agents) for rapid idea validation and prototype building. Basic understanding of web frontends (HTML/CSS/JS) is a plus – we'll teach you the rest.
• Languages: Native German (mandatory for communication with German clients) and fluent English.
• Residency: Currently reside in Germany.
