Job Description

To support its rapid growth and client success, Resultant is looking for a Senior Network Engineer. This role is primarily remote, with preference given to candidates located in Dallas, TX, Indianapolis, IN, or Chicago, IL. The engineer will be instrumental in strategic planning, network design, implementation, and assessment for clients.

Your Typical Days Might Include:

• Performing strategic planning with clients to identify and analyze projects fulfilling strategic and operational needs.
• Delivering assigned project commitments, utilizing the entire client team as needed.
• Participating in the daily planning, tracking, scheduling, and execution of project tasks.
• Designing and implementing network architectures for reliable operation and client objectives.
• Conducting assessments of current network states to identify efficiency, security, or reliability improvements.
• Designing and building cloud networking solutions (Azure, AWS, Google).
• Installing site network equipment (firewalls, switches, routers, wireless solutions).
• Evaluating emerging technologies and developing standard operating procedures.
• Collaborating with security teams to ensure solutions conform to industry standards (NIST, ISO, SOC, HIPPA, PCI DSS).
• Preparing documentation for network standards, configurations, procedures, and layouts.
• Writing, designing, and delivering operational documentation, including network diagrams.
• Ensuring all network designs and deployments are fully documented and supportable.
• Mentoring team members on technical issues.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• At least 8+ years of experience in routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless (datacenter and cloud).
• Leadership experience and/or potential (possibility of growing into a Lead or Management position).
• Expertise with network systems, standards (LAN, WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN), and routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF).
• In-depth knowledge of network security (NGFW, IPS, IPsec VPN, SSLVPN).
• Cloud Networking Experience (AWS, Azure, Google).
• Experience planning, designing, and deploying network architectures at scale using Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Cisco technologies.
• Proven ability in network capacity and performance planning and monitoring.
• Thorough understanding of 802.11 wireless principles.
• Strong ability with end-user device connectivity.
• In-depth knowledge of QoS and traffic shaping.
• Knowledge of 802.1X and SAML/SSO implementation strategies.
• Proven ability to analyze and solve tier 3 network incidents.
• Experience in executing medium to large-scale projects.
• Excellent communication and client service skills (written and oral), including detailed technical documentation.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel locally and nationally as needed (approx. 25%).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

Highly Desirable:

• Technical Certifications such as CCNP, NSE4-6, PCNSE, AZ-700, etc.
