About the Role

As a Sales Engineer based in Mexico, you will partner with sales teams to introduce and implement Samsara's advanced IoT solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in modernizing essential industries, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable supply chain by improving roadway safety, reducing fuel consumption, and optimizing fleet operations. You will engage with customers daily, discussing the impact of IoT on logistics, safety, maintenance, and compliance. This role requires a deep understanding of IoT hardware, installation, data management, cloud infrastructure, and API integrations.

Location: Remote, open to candidates residing in Mexico, preferably near the Mexico City metropolitan area.
Travel: Up to 40% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion Samsara's cultural principles and embed them within the team.
  • Build strong, trusted advisor relationships with customers to expand our installed base.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop effective territory and account strategies.
  • Master Samsara's value proposition and articulate its benefits to prospects.
  • Conduct discoveries, demonstrations, value assessments, and proof-of-concept implementations.
  • Guide installers through product installation best practices and deployment planning.
  • Develop and document proof-of-concept scripts using our open API to solve real-world customer problems.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support.
  • A growth mindset and aptitude for continuous learning and development.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through technical acumen and understanding of business processes.
  • Skill in explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, and automation/control systems.
  • Proficiency in identifying and delivering customer value.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
  • 5+ years of enterprise pre-sales experience.
  • Experience with task automation scripting (Bash, Python, JavaScript) and API integrations.
  • Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems (CAN bus, PTO).
  • A genuine interest in electronics and technology projects (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Arduino).
  • Proven success selling complex technical solutions.
  • Located in Mexico City.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
