About the Role

As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you will play a dual role: supporting senior sales teams in expanding existing customer relationships and acquiring new enterprise clients, while also serving as a senior technical resource for the SE team. You will be accountable for the technical success of sales cycles, requiring strong storytelling, objection handling, and advanced integration capabilities. This role involves contributing to product development through testing and providing feedback, managing projects, and improving team processes. You will maintain a quota and are expected to excel in time management to balance these senior responsibilities.

Location: Remote, open to candidates residing in the United States (excluding San Francisco Bay Metros, New York City Metro, and Washington DC Metro).
Travel: Up to 50% of the time; proximity to an international airport is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct product demonstrations and lead proof-of-concept trials, ensuring customer proficiency with the Samsara platform.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and other teams to enhance the Samsara platform.
  • Articulate Samsara's value proposition and core capabilities through various channels (on-site, webinars, events).
  • Respond to RFIs/RFPs with functional and technical expertise.
  • Employ organizational and analytical skills to overcome sales obstacles creatively.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced technical organization with a growing customer base.
  • Provide high availability to Sales and cross-functional teams, driving measurable impact and contributing to SE Team enablement.
  • Actively participate in internal team communications.
  • Embody and promote Samsara's cultural principles.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales technical role (Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Solutions Engineer), customer success, or customer/product support.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through technical sales acumen and business process understanding.
  • Strong capability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, and automation/control systems.
  • Working knowledge of integration standards and transports (XML, REST, SOAP, EDI).
  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs between SaaS applications.
  • Exposure to various SaaS-based integrations.
  • Must be located within and authorized to work in the United States.

An Ideal Candidate Also Has:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience with task automation scripting (Bash, Python, JavaScript) and building solutions leveraging open APIs.
  • Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems (CAN bus, PTO).
  • A hobbyist interest in electronics and technology projects.
  • A consistent track record of successfully selling complex technical solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual OTE Salary: $121,975—$184,500 USD
