About the Role
We are seeking a Data Product Manager who excels at the intersection of complex technology and commercial strategy. You will transform challenging backend data problems into high-value data products that empower business teams. This role requires a collaborative leader capable of translating deep technical architectures for executive stakeholders and aligning multiple squads around a cohesive data vision.
What You'll Do
- Set the Vision: Define the one-year roadmap for the Data domain, plan multi-squad projects (3-6 months ahead), manage trade-offs, and establish clear KPIs and OKRs.
- Build Data & AI Foundation: Lead the development of our new data warehouse and own the ongoing advancement of our AI infrastructure, including Chatbots and Agentic AI.
- Enable Self-Serve Journeys: Develop tools that empower colleagues across UW to access insights independently.
- Design Great Features: Spearhead the design of complex features and facilitate collaboration between engineering teams to resolve user pain points.
- Lead Big Deliveries: Manage end-to-end delivery of multi-quarter initiatives, make critical decisions (e.g., feature deprecation), and proactively manage risks.
- Align Stakeholders: Act as a Data team Ambassador, manage complex stakeholder relationships (internal/external), proactively address blockers, and present strategic narratives to senior leadership.
- Define Technical Specifications & Integrations: Specify multi-system feature sets, design API integrations, and guide data modeling discussions with engineers.
Your Team
You will join a rapidly expanding Data team, reporting to the Head of Data Science. You will be the crucial link between the Data squad and the broader business, helping to prioritize work, understand commercial impact, and represent the voice of Data in key technology and business decisions.
What You'll Bring
- Solid Data Literacy: Comfortable with SQL and the Modern Data Stack (BigQuery, Dataform, APIs). Ability to discuss data modeling and AI integrations with engineers.
- Full-Stack Product Thinking: Proven experience managing complex, internal data products in a fast-growing business.
- Data-Driven Leadership: Experience leveraging behavioral data, predictive modeling, and machine learning for personalized customer journeys.
- Commercial Acumen: Understanding of commercial concepts (LTV, CAC, Opex, Capex) and their application to product and investment decisions.
- Smart Decision-Making: Experience evaluating and integrating third-party vendors (build vs. buy).
- Stakeholder Management: Adept at building relationships, managing expectations, and delivering value across technical specialists and senior executives.
- Strategic Customer Focus: Deep understanding of internal customers and ability to identify and analyze new growth opportunities.
