About the Role

At Tripadvisor Experiences, data fuels our decisions. As a Product Data Scientist, you will be the analytical backbone for one or more product pods. You'll own measurement, reporting, experimentation support, and surface the insights that guide product strategy. This role is perfect for someone with strong foundational data science skills who is motivated to develop expertise in advanced analytics.

What You’ll Do

Experimentation

• Design and analyze A/B tests across the Viator marketplace using sound statistical methods.
• Champion experimentation best practices, including power calculations, guardrail metrics, and multiple testing corrections.
• Develop mastery in causal inference and advanced experimentation techniques for complex, non-randomized questions.

Strategic Analysis & Measurement

• Own the measurement framework for your product area, defining key metrics and building instrumentation.
• Conduct exploratory analyses and deep dives using various data science approaches to inform product decisions.
• Enable self-service analytics through scalable datasets, metrics, and dashboards.
• Translate analytical findings into actionable insights and clear product recommendations.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Partner with product managers and engineers to ensure data questions are relevant and impactful.
• Communicate analyses through clear narratives accessible to non-technical audiences.
• Act as a champion for unbiased, rigorous analysis, even when data challenges hypotheses.

What You’ll Bring

• Several years in a data science, analytics, or quantitative research role at a data-driven organization.
• Advanced SQL skills for querying and manipulating large datasets.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
• Experience with the full A/B testing process.
• Some proficiency in Python for analysis and modeling.
• A track record of using data insights to influence product or business decisions.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A growth mindset and eagerness to learn new tools and techniques.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to advanced statistical methods and causal inference techniques.
• Familiarity with LLMs or NLP tooling for analytics.
• Experience in the travel or e-commerce industry, particularly with marketplaces.
