About the Role

The Home Experience team is responsible for Reddit's Home feed on apps and the website – a critical destination and entry point for most user journeys. You will contribute to creating a smooth, intuitive, and delightful experience for hundreds of millions of users, helping them explore Reddit.

This role can be remote within the United States, Canada, or Europe, or hybrid if near an office (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Toronto, London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Berlin).

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the technical lead for a high-caliber, inclusive engineering team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering counterparts to build novel products and features.
• Drive improvements in developer workflows, implement best practices, and mentor engineers.
• Participate in the full development cycle: design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Write and review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specs, and ensure project delivery.
• Be a key driver in planning, developing, and implementing across Reddit’s Android architecture.
• Enable a culture of metrics-led execution with a focus on operational excellence and system observability.
• Partner with senior leadership on the strategic roadmap and drive engineering and product initiatives.

Who You Might Be

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering for user-facing applications.
• Proficiency with product metrics, designing and analyzing experiments using tools like BigQuery, HEX, Firebase.
• Software development experience in Kotlin for Android, with familiarity with GraphQL.
• Experience leveraging GenAI tools to enhance software engineering productivity.
• Experience working with ML engineering teams and integrating ML solutions is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and keep projects on schedule.
• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong focus on user experience and usability, with intuition for user interaction.
• Entrepreneurial spirit: self-directed, innovative, and action-oriented.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating in a remote environment and discussing complex topics with diverse audiences.

Pay Transparency

This job posting may span multiple career levels. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for equity (RSUs) and potentially commission. Reddit offers a comprehensive benefits package for US-based employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and generous time off.

Base Salary Range (US-based): $217,000 - $303,900 USD.

Final offers are determined by skills, experience, and other factors.
