Our team comprises Customer Solutions Engineers, Customer Success Managers, Account Executives, Business Development Representatives, Solution Engineers, and Sales Operations. We collaborate closely to help customers adopt Cloudflare, solve their business challenges, and generate revenue that supports our mission to provide free services to millions.

What You'll Do

As a Digital Customer Solutions Engineer (CSE), you will serve as the primary technical advisor throughout a customer's lifecycle. You will act as a Cloudflare product expert, ensuring our enterprise customers maximize the value derived from the Cloudflare platform. Your goal is to drive customer success and enable them to fully utilize our services.

As a Digital CSE, you will meticulously analyze customer requirements and issues, identify root causes of complex problems, and devise elegant, efficient solutions. Your deep understanding of how the internet works will be crucial.

You will collaborate closely with Digital Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and other Cloudflare teams, including Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support, to implement scalable solutions that meet customer needs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor within the Digital team, helping expand existing business and ensuring customer success through 1:1 engagements and 1:many success events.
  • Be part of a regional pool of CSMs and CSEs supporting customer needs.
  • Deliver timely and organized customer onboarding, demonstrate the full value of Cloudflare's products, and advise on technical best practices via 1:many events and limited 1:1 engagements.
  • Participate in content creation and delivery for technical customer workshops within your area of expertise.
  • Provide proactive technical guidance and expertise across your primary specialization and a secondary area.
  • Collaborate with Customer Support, Engineering, and other teams to assist with technical escalations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for expansion within existing customer accounts.
  • Promote customer retention by capturing and communicating product or feature gaps.
  • Contribute to the CSE organization's success through knowledge sharing, including internal/external documentation, technical Q&A, and iterating on best practices.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in any European language is preferred but not exclusive.
  • 6+ years of prior post-sales customer relationship management experience.
  • Deep understanding of internet infrastructure, including:
  • OSI model layers and protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP).
  • Reverse and forward proxies and their applications.
  • Security aspects (Firewalls, WAFs, Bot Management, Rate Limiting, (M)TLS, Zero Trust).
  • Performance aspects (Speed, Latency, Caching, HTTP/2, TLSv1.3).
  • Enjoy troubleshooting and solving complex technical problems.
  • Understanding of Cloudflare's role in the modern internet ecosystem.
  • Ability to proactively identify and solve problems, then build sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Technical curiosity and passion for staying updated with internet technology and industry trends.
  • Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize competing demands.
