The Role

The Sales Engineer acts as the technical liaison between prospective customers and HONK’s Product, Engineering, and Operations teams. Working alongside Account Directors, you will guide customers through evaluating HONK’s platform, designing tailored solutions, and planning implementations. This role demands a blend of technical acumen, consultative problem-solving, and business insight to shape complex enterprise opportunities, validate requirements, and ensure internal alignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Account Directors to understand customer objectives and challenges.
  • Lead discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and technical evaluations.
  • Collaborate with customers to define requirements and design solutions.
  • Serve as the technical lead during evaluations, including security reviews and integration discussions.
  • Assess solution feasibility with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Support RFP responses and other pre-sales activities.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Sales and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams.
  • Maintain documentation of customer requirements and proposed solutions.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to onboarding by documenting technical details.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, Technical Account Management, Product Operations, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
  • Experience leading discovery sessions, workflow assessments, and solution design with enterprise customers.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with Product and Engineering teams in a SaaS or technology environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software evaluations, integrations, APIs, or operational workflows (preferred).
  • Automotive, roadside assistance, logistics, fleet, mobility, or marketplace experience (a plus).

Compensation

  • $120,000 - $165,000 per year (salary may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience).
  • Total compensation may include commission and other benefits.
