The Role: Naval Ship Design Engineer (Remote)

MANTECH seeks a motivated and customer-oriented Naval Ship Design Engineer to join our team. This position is fully remote and requires a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. You will provide essential technical engineering support for SEA 05 Ship Design Manager (SDM) Warfare System/C4ISR programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering support for SEA 05 Ship Design Manager (SDM) Warfare System/C4ISR programs.
  • Assess shipboard requirements and provide recommended engineering design and integration solutions that minimize shipboard design impacts.
  • Evaluate and provide inputs to shipbuilding contract documentation (e.g., Contract Drawings, Schedules A & C, Ship Specifications).
  • Conduct engineering reviews of shipbuilder products, including Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Detail Design Drawings, and CDRLs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in the review and QA process for the revision of LHA CS/C4ISR Contract Drawings.
  • Evaluate Bidders' questions and ECPs for compliance with technical scope.
  • Provide technical coordination between the Ship Program Manager, SEA 05, PARMs, support contractors, ISEAs, SSGC, and shipbuilding personnel to mitigate the impact of unavoidable changes.
  • Travel up to 10% may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • 7+ years of experience in naval ship design and technical engineering support.
  • Experience assessing shipboard requirements and providing engineering design and integration solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, naval architecture, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with LHA amphibious assault ship CS/C4ISR systems and contract documentation.

Clearance Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance.
  • Must obtain an interim secret security clearance to start.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary 50% of the time.
  • Occasional movement within the office to access equipment.
  • Frequent communication with co-workers, management, and customers, including presentations.
  • Ability to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Projected compensation range: $70,200.00 - $117,000.00 (dependent on factors like contract wage, experience, skills, location, education, and Federal Government Contract Labor categories).
