About the Role

We are hiring a Software Engineer for our Data side of the AI team. This position is responsible for all aspects of data collection crucial for our model training operations. You will be instrumental in building high-quality datasets at petabyte-scale and low cost through tight integration of infrastructure, engineering, and research.

What You'll Do

• Be resourceful in discovering new sources of audio data and integrating them into our ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and enhance the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform.
• Collaborate closely with Scientists to improve the cost, throughput, and quality of data, delivering richer datasets at a larger scale for our next-generation models.
• Partner with the AI Team and Speechify Leadership to define the dataset roadmap that will power Speechify's future consumer and enterprise products.

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts, with professional experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP preferred).
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to evolving priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
