Senior Developer Relations (DevRel) Engineer - Growth at Railway

Railway empowers engineers to deploy logic effortlessly by abstracting away server complexities, aiming to make developers orders of magnitude more efficient and become the operating system for modern development.

About the Role

This is a writing-forward Developer Relations role focused on driving user growth. You will be a key early hire in this area, given significant autonomy to define strategy and work across various functions. We expect you to be knowledgeable about modern DevOps practices, the cloud infrastructure landscape, and have strong opinions on the future of developer tools. You'll wear many hats, contribute to strategic initiatives, and help build the developer ecosystem around Railway.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and refine comprehensive documentation, including guides, tutorials, and information architecture.
• Drive new user growth by creating compelling content for blogs and industry forums, addressing what prospective users are searching for.
• Engineer content optimized for both conventional search (SEO) and AI-driven search (agentic search) to broaden reach and provide accurate solutions.
• Support initiatives related to our Open Source presence, including our CLI, Nixpacks, and Templates.
• Craft resources that foster the growth of the developer ecosystem and ensure a seamless experience for all users.

About You

• Possess a strong and clear communication style, especially in writing.
• Skilled in analyzing data and user trends to inform content strategy and measure impact.
• An enthusiastic user of Railway, deeply understanding its value proposition.
• Able to share insights effectively with developers of all levels.
• Demonstrate strong direction and prioritization skills in an ambiguous, early-stage startup environment.
• Comfortable with multiple programming languages/stacks and capable of creating educational content for deploying projects on public clouds and Railway.
• Adept at translating highly technical concepts into easily understandable explanations.
