We are looking for a versatile and seasoned Senior Product Designer who excels at creating great products, loves collaboration, and takes initiative. You will derive satisfaction from ideating, designing, and delivering exceptional solutions to a vast developer audience. This position is for a well-rounded professional who appreciates creative thinking and equally values seeing their ideas materialize. Responsibilities:
- Play a pivotal role in shaping Railway's developer experience and redefining the future of software infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with product, support, and engineering teams to scope, define, design, and ship high-quality features.
- Contribute to the overall design direction of the product, applying creativity and problem-solving skills to complex challenges.
- Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints to ensure Railway remains user-friendly, scalable, and reliable.
- Define workflows, create prototypes, and develop the visual design for projects.
- Learn about our users, their platform usage, pain points, and propose solutions.
- Help maintain and evolve our internal Design System.
- Operate effectively in an ambiguous environment to create design excellence, using process judiciously.
- Contribute to the overall design culture within the company.
About You
- A builder at heart, comfortable working closely with engineers.
- Possess a strong portfolio showcasing skills in user interface design, interaction design, and visual design, demonstrating the ability to solve complex problems with attention to detail.
- Care deeply about creating good products, understanding user experience, and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Consider business needs, implications, and the practicality of solutions, striving for clear, intuitive, and appealing human interfaces.
- A creative thinker capable of pushing design boundaries while balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Proficient in Figma for design, illustration, iteration, and prototyping, with an openness to exploring new tools (e.g., Blender, Spline, Rive).
- Experienced in balancing trade-offs to ship features on time without compromising the long-term product vision.
- Skilled in effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs within project timelines.
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate design decisions and rationale clearly to stakeholders and team members.
