Team Lead IT Security (m/w/d)

About the Role

We are looking for an IT Security expert to take on a key role in securing the highly critical IT infrastructure of a renowned university hospital. As the Team Lead IT-Security (m/f/d), you will ensure that modern medicine, research, and care function securely and stably at all times. Cybersecurity in healthcare means more than IT protection; it means protecting people.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and further develop the IT Security team, along with related structures and processes.
• Be responsible for the stable and secure operation of complex IT security systems.
• Develop and implement the operational IT security strategy.
• Manage all measures during security incidents (Incident Response).
• Coordinate and manage external service providers in the security environment.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (IT, medical technology, management).
• Create and present reports on the security situation to relevant decision-makers.
• Advise departments on compliance with legal requirements and security standards.
• Monitor market and technology trends and integrate relevant innovations.
• Involvement in daily operations, especially in Firewall infrastructure, Nessus, Vectra NDR, or SIEM.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/qualification.
• Several years of experience in the conception and operation of complex IT security solutions.
• Initial leadership experience or strong leadership potential.
• In-depth knowledge of security audits and penetration tests.
• Experience with compliance requirements in a KRITIS environment (ideally in healthcare) and BSI-IT-Grundschutz.
• Knowledge in the areas of Fortinet, Vectra AI, Nessus, and SIEM/SOC is a significant plus.
• High analytical skills and problem-solving competence, as well as a strong hands-on mentality.
• Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and strategic thinking.
