Job Description
The Account Manager II is responsible for managing and selling Renaissance Learning's products and services within an assigned territory, achieving revenue goals through prospecting, new business acquisition, customer renewals, cross-selling, and up-selling. This role requires meaningful sales experience and developing expertise in cultivating long-term customer relationships, maintaining high product renewal rates, and collaborating effectively with Customer Success and Account Executive teams. You will serve as the primary account contact, focusing on increasing customer loyalty and retention while driving business value and expansion.
This position requires occasional travel for customer engagements, conferences, and other revenue-generating activities. We are ideally seeking candidates in Louisiana.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage Opportunities: Proactively drive new business, cross/up-sell, and renewal opportunities by engaging multiple decision-makers. Ensure communication and agreement throughout the opportunity lifecycle, utilizing internal and external networks to increase opportunity value and exceed revenue goals for your assigned book of business.
- Consultative Solution Selling: Understand and sell solutions aligned with customers’ unique problems and strategic objectives. Lead cross-functional account teams, internal partners, and external resources to develop winning solutions that deliver value for both the customer and Renaissance.

- K-12 Education Acuity: Possess deep knowledge of the K-12 education space (public, private, parochial schools), including administrative roles, funding, purchasing processes, buying cycles, policies, trends, and school board oversight. Understand customer workflows, contacts, and decision-making integration.
- Domain Expertise: Maintain strong technical knowledge of EdTech tools and trends, staying current on future policies, practices, and information affecting customer businesses. Understand the competitive landscape and market strategies.
- Build Credibility: Establish rapport based on factual accuracy, expertise, delivering on expectations, and proactively providing market insights to position Renaissance as a trusted partner.
Qualifications
- Required:
- 4+ years of prior sales experience.
- Proficiency in collaboration tools (e.g., Outlook, Microsoft Teams).
- Familiarity with CRMs and sales technology (e.g., Salesforce, MS Dynamics).
- Knowledge of education customers, their organizational structures, and leadership personas.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Bonus Points:
- Experience in education sales.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and creative problem-solving skills.
Additional Information
- Salary Range: $61,800 - $85,000 base; $123,000 - $158,000 total target compensation (TTC). Range may vary by experience and location.
- Location: Remote - LA (Ideally Louisiana).
