What You'll Do:

As a Junior Editor, you will be instrumental in maintaining the high quality of novels published by Inkitt. This role involves operating and refining editorial tools to ensure manuscripts meet stringent quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Run editing tools on incoming book manuscripts and review them to ensure quality output.
• Collaborate with the Content Team to support overall editorial processes.
• Provide detailed feedback and suggestions for improvements to editing tools.
• Perform quick-turnaround copyedits, line edits, proofreading, and beta-reading as needed.

What You'll Bring:

Requirements:

• Location: Remote; ability to make meetings on San Francisco hours.
• Language: Native English speaker.
• Experience: 3 years of professional editing experience, with at least 1 year in editing fiction.
• Skills: Excellent copyediting skills and a basic understanding of quantitative reasoning.
• Interests: Keen interest in utilizing AI to assist in editorial processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Genre Knowledge: Familiarity with Romance and its subgenres (Paranormal Romance, Contemporary, Erotica).
• Tech Savvy: Familiarity with AI models and enthusiasm for exploring new AI implementations.
• Bonus: Living in or near San Francisco.

Compensation

• $30/hour
• 20 hours/week
