About the Organization/Team

You will join the Product Design Team at PayPay Bank. Our services extend beyond basic asset management and savings, designed to support users during pivotal life moments such as major purchases or retirement planning. Product designers here are crucial in delivering optimal user experiences at these critical touchpoints, thereby enhancing users' daily lives. Upon joining, you are expected to be seconded to PayPay Bank as a member of this project team.

Job Responsibilities

You will join a project team working alongside Product Managers, engineers, and senior product designers to develop new features and enhance existing ones, prioritizing user experience above all else. This role offers diverse opportunities to contribute to delivering a brand-new banking experience to users.

  • Comprehensive UX/UI Design: End-to-end design for the PayPay Bank consumer app, mini-apps within the PayPay app, web services, LINE mini-apps, and PayPay Bank corporate apps/web services.
  • Concept Development: Create design concepts using frameworks such as user personas and customer journey maps.
  • Design Execution: Produce UX flows and UI designs based on established concepts.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis using surveys and interviews.
  • Optimization: Propose improvements based on data from numerical analysis tools.
  • Design Systems: Manage and maintain the design system.
  • Miscellaneous: Handle a wide range of product design tasks, including organizing design workshops.

Scope of Responsibilities

You will work closely with the Senior Product Designer, as well as Product Managers, Engineers, and relevant stakeholders. You will gain a deep understanding of business requirements and user challenges, and be responsible for proposing UX flows that ensure comprehensiveness, thoroughness, and consistency, through to the finalization of UI designs.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 3+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design for mobile applications (iOS/Android) and mobile web.
  • Practical proficiency in UX/UI design using Figma and Adobe tools.
  • Proven track record in product releases, effectiveness measurement (analytics), and iterative improvement.
  • Business conversation level in Japanese.

Desired Experience/Skills

  • Practical experience applying HCD (Human-Centered Design) or Design Thinking methodologies.
  • Experience facilitating design workshops.
  • Experience conducting user research using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Experience operating in-house services.
  • Experience leading projects from requirements definition through prototyping to final visual design.
  • Experience building and maintaining design systems.
  • Conversational level in both Japanese and English.

Working Conditions

  • Employment Status: Full Time
  • Office Location: Hybrid Workstyle (flexible working style including Remote and office). Expected to work both in the office and remotely, aligning with organizational guidelines and team objectives.
  • Work Hours: Super Flex Time (No Core Time). In principle, 9:00 am - 5:45 pm + 1h break (actual working hours: 7h 45m + 1h break).
  • Holidays: Every Saturday/Sunday, National holidays (in Japan), New Year’s break, Company-designated Special days.
  • Paid leave: Annual leave (up to 14 days in the first year, granted proportionally), Personal leave (5 days each year).
  • Salary: Annual salary paid in 12 installments (monthly). Based on skills, experience, and abilities. Reviewed annually. Late overtime allowance provided.
  • Benefits: Social Insurance (health insurance, employee pension, employment insurance, and compensation insurance), 401K, Translation/Interpretation support, VISA sponsor + Relocation support.
