About the Role: Lead Engineer - Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership for our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Service within the SNI team. This service is crucial for enabling automated, reproducible, and secure provisioning of IT infrastructure for engineering, test, and project environments.

What the Service Does:

• Automated provisioning and management of infrastructure via code.
• Fast and reproducible deployment of test and engineering environments.
• Standardization, security hardening, and policy-based configurations from the start.
• Efficient use of hardware through on-demand environments.

Your Role:

• Serve as the main developer for the IaC service.
• Own the architecture, code structure, and technical direction of the service.
• Work hands-on with automation code, including Ansible, Python, and scripting.
• Collaborate closely with the Service Owner and multiple stakeholders.
• Guide and support other contributors through technical mentoring and code reviews.

Technical Scope:

• Bare metal provisioning (Dell servers, firmware, BIOS, RAID, iDRAC hardening).
• Hypervisor setup (Hyper-V, networking, VM lifecycle).
• Windows OS deployment and customization.
• Active Directory (DCs, OUs, GPOs, CIS hardening).
• Application deployment and full test environments (e.g., OLS, SIT).

Tooling:

• Ansible (roles, templates, scripting).
• AWX as an automation orchestrator and UI.

What We Are Looking For:

• Strong background in infrastructure automation/platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• Comfortable working with Windows-based environments.
• An engineering mindset focused on structure, quality, and maintainability.
• Ability to take technical ownership and collaborate effectively across teams.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with security hardening and policy-driven infrastructure setups.
• DevOps / SecDevOps experience in enterprise environments.

Notes:

This role involves interaction with numerous teams, including R&D, solutions, test setups, and project delivery. The IaC service is foundational to building a SecDevOps approach for infrastructure within our environment.
