Job Description: Estimator / Senior Estimator - Infrastructure

Due to continued demand and ambitious growth plans, Turner & Townsend is looking to recruit Estimators and Senior Estimators with proven experience in the Infrastructure sector (Rail, Airports, Highways, Power, Water, or Utilities). Opportunities are available in our London, Birmingham, Bristol, and Manchester offices.

Estimators at Turner & Townsend make a difference for our clients by supporting them as an embedded resource within their organization or through ad-hoc work for multiple clients within the Infrastructure sector as part of the Turner & Townsend Estimating Hub. While our work is predominantly for UK-based clients, Estimators have the opportunity to work remotely (from the UK) on estimating tasks for our global clients as workload requires.

Our team delivers a wide range of Estimating outputs to support client decision-making, including:

• Estimate Production (from Order of Magnitude estimates through to detailed estimates built up from first principles).
• Estimating Assurance.
• Estimating Support to Major Programme Set up.
• Estimating Data.

Responsibilities:

As an Estimator at Turner & Townsend, you will be responsible for:

• Producing accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects in a timely and efficient manner.
• Controlling and managing the estimating process at the project level.
• Producing estimates independently, without management or supervision.
• Supporting the development and promotion of estimating best practices within Turner & Townsend.
• Assisting in the achievement of departmental objectives.
• Staying abreast of developments within your technical area of expertise to provide best practice advice in line with business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Qualified to a high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience.
• Relevant successful experience in providing estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment.
• Previous experience working with estimating software packages.
• Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status, or working towards it.
• Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A.CostE.
