Cost Intelligence, Data & Benchmarking Professional

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries, is expanding its capabilities in providing evidence-based, data-driven commercial insights across major infrastructure programs. This role focuses on enhancing affordability, predictability, and performance in capital infrastructure investment by leveraging project, portfolio, and market cost data. You will support clients across the full asset lifecycle, from business case development through to portfolio optimization.

This position is available across the North East & Yorkshire region, with opportunities in our Newcastle, Teesside, Sheffield, and Leeds offices. We offer flexibility in location and the possibility of remote work within the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and evolve infrastructure cost benchmarks across various sectors.
• Analyze cost performance across assets, programs, and portfolios.
• Identify key cost drivers, trends, and systemic variances.
• Assist with gathering and sharing estimating data.
• Support the automated capture, standardization, and governance of cost data across infrastructure programs.
• Collaborate closely with Digital, Data, and Innovation teams.
• Support the development and promotion of good practices within Turner & Townsend.
• Assist in achieving departmental objectives.
• Stay abreast of developments in your technical area to provide best practice advice aligned with business objectives.

Key Skills:

• Strong understanding of infrastructure cost structures and delivery models.
• Experience working with cost data, benchmarks, and analytics on large or complex programs.
• Ability to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.
• Commercial awareness of infrastructure markets.

Qualifications:

• Experience in infrastructure cost management, cost intelligence, benchmarking, or data analytics.
• Background in consultancy, client-side infrastructure organizations, or major contractors is preferred.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Economics, Construction Management, Data Analytics, or a similar field.
• Progress towards or membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
