Ideal for experienced editors who are passionate about precise prose and strategic growth.

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform empowering businesses worldwide. Millions of companies, from global enterprises to ambitious startups, leverage Stripe for payments, revenue growth, and new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, presenting an unparalleled chance to make a global economic impact and achieve significant career milestones.

About the Team

The Product Marketing team at Stripe is dedicated to generating customer insights that inform product strategy and lead go-to-market initiatives. As a highly cross-functional unit, we partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, Partnerships, and Demand Generation. Unlike many PMM teams, we engage across the entire product lifecycle, from product shaping and launch to post-launch adoption.

What You'll Do

We are searching for an experienced copy editor to guarantee all published content adheres to our house style and meets our high-quality standards. The Copy Desk, part of the Narrative and Editorial team, is responsible for copy editing diverse marketing content, including blog posts, guides, reports, infographics, customer stories, emails, web pages, ads, and video transcripts. Beyond editing, you will maintain our style guide and editorial documentation, customize and enhance AI writing and editing tools, and streamline operational processes to ensure efficient Copy Desk operations.

Responsibilities

  • Review and copy edit all types of marketing content to enforce style guidelines and maintain quality standards. Ensure fidelity to our voice and tone, eliminate errors, simplify jargon into plain language, and refine awkward phrasing into graceful prose.
  • Continuously amend, improve, and clarify our style guide in response to new challenges, evolving problems, and shifts in our voice and standards.
  • Develop and maintain AI tools for the Copy Desk team's editing process, as well as self-serve tools for marketers to use before content reaches Copy Desk review. This requires no technical skills, utilizing our existing internal platform.
  • Iterate on existing operational processes for intake, queue management, service level agreements, and quality assurance. Identify opportunities to increase speed and capacity as we scale and review volume grows.

Who You Are

You are a dedicated copy editor with a profound understanding of the power of clear, precise language. You possess a strong command of voice and tone and can adapt it across various formats, from email nurturing campaigns to educational articles and social media posts. You are meticulous about style, grammar, and punctuation. Furthermore, you bring a strategic, growth-oriented mindset, ready to drive initiatives that reinforce a culture of high-quality writing and collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously refine Copy Desk processes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a copy editor across various channels and content formats, within marketing or other relevant fields.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse teams, including those with regional considerations, understanding the subtle differences required for success in each context.
  • A passion for copy editing and a deep appreciation for the significance and impact of well-written prose.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English, Creative Writing, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with creative or design teams.
  • Experience writing and editing technical content.
  • Broad understanding of the mechanics and objectives of B2B marketing teams.
  • Working knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau) and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira).
