Your Role
As a key member of our Product team, you will be responsible for the entire design process from initial concept to go-live, working closely with Product Management and Engineering in a Product Trio structure. Your responsibilities include:
Conception & Discovery
- Oversee the end-to-end design process, from ideation to launch, in close collaboration with Product Management and Engineering.
- Gather stakeholder requirements, facilitate discovery sessions, and translate complex functional and technical constraints into user-centric concepts.
- Design features that align user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility, proactively contributing monetization perspectives.
User Research
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including user interviews, usability tests, and in-app surveys.
- Systematically analyze research findings, translate them into actionable recommendations, and derive concept priorities.
Prototyping & Testing
- Create prototypes at the appropriate fidelity level and prepare/conduct usability tests.
- Derive clear next steps from test results and make data-driven decisions using metrics from tools like PostHog or in-app surveys.
Design System & Quality
- Maintain and consistently evolve our Design System, ensuring systemic thinking and consistent implementation.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering to ensure designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also well-built.
AI in the Design Process
- Actively drive the adoption of new AI tools within the team, setting new standards.
- Build and share personal workflows that eliminate routine tasks, enabling the entire team to work faster.
- Ensure all AI usage is GDPR-compliant and mindful of data handling.
Your Qualifications
- AI-Native Work, Demonstrable: You consistently use AI tools in your daily design work for research synthesis, concept iteration, prototyping, or UX writing. You can provide concrete examples of how AI has measurably increased your output and speed.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Product or UX Design, with significant time spent on complex digital products.
- Strong conceptualization skills: ability to think through complex systems and translate them into clear, understandable user flows.
- Solid experience in both qualitative and quantitative user research.
- Demonstrable experience with Design Systems: building, maintaining, and evolving them.
- Excellent proficiency in Figma.
- Data affinity: ability to interpret product metrics, funnel data, and test results to inform design decisions.
- Self-directed work style: ability to drive initiatives independently, knowing when to seek alignment, while maintaining quality and pace.
- Experience with B2B or SaaS products, understanding the interplay between end-user needs and business requirements.
- Native German fluency: essential for understanding our market, users, and team communication.
- Located in or near Hamburg, or remote with occasional on-site presence.
- Advantageous:
- UI design skills: consistent, systemically thought-out, pixel-perfect execution.
- A feel for UX Writing and microcopy.
- Experience in agile development environments and direct collaboration with Engineering.
