Role Overview

As a Fixed WAN Technical Design Authority within the Vodafone Business Technology Solutions team, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and continuously improving low-level designs (LLDs) for Vodafone UK's enterprise WAN solutions. You will collaborate closely with customers and internal teams to create secure, scalable, and high-performing WAN services that seamlessly integrate into diverse customer environments. This is a full-time, homebased position offering an excellent salary, bonus, and comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Low-Level Design (LLD) Development: Produce detailed LLDs for fixed WAN services (MPLS, IPVPN, SD-WAN, DIA), design integration solutions, and create supporting documentation like network diagrams and configuration templates.
• WAN Network Design & Configuration: Architect WAN solutions focusing on performance, redundancy, security, and scalability, working with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS VPN) and designing connectivity for sites, data centers, and cloud platforms.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work with internal stakeholders (architecture, sales, project management) and engage directly with clients to gather requirements and provide consultancy. Collaborate with third-party vendors.
• Documentation & Standards: Maintain department documentation on design standards, technical solutions, and best practices. Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Assist operations teams with LLD handover, provide technical guidance for deployment and troubleshooting, support network performance analysis, and offer technical advice during incident resolution.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging networking technologies, especially in the WAN space (e.g., SD-WAN, cloud networking).

Requirements

• Degree, HND, relevant certifications, or equivalent practical experience in computer networking, telecommunications engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant Cisco and/or Juniper professional certifications are desirable; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or equivalent advanced technical expertise is advantageous.
• A strong understanding of enterprise WAN design, implementation, and support.
