Job Summary: Client Sales Representative (Remote)

This is a fully remote position. As a Client Sales Representative, you will be the initial point of contact for inbound leads, engaging prospective clients and guiding them through the sales stages. Your primary focus will be on building relationships, effectively communicating Toptal's value proposition, and driving new business opportunities. This role is ideal for driven, results-oriented individuals eager to exceed sales quotas and launch a successful sales career.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Cycle Management: Act as the first point of contact for new clients, managing sales calls, articulating Toptal's benefits, and guiding deals from discovery through close.
  • Client Experience: Execute a customer-centric approach, building rapport with prospective clients through pre-outreach research and staying informed on industry trends and competitors.
  • Collaboration: Work with team members to promptly respond to high-volume inbound inquiries, utilizing Zoom and Slack for clear communication.
  • Growth and Development: Be open to and implement feedback to achieve individual and team success.

First Week Expectations:

  • Onboard and integrate into Toptal.
  • Learn Toptal's model, team, and company story.
  • Begin 1-1 sales training on value proposition, sales process, and delivery.
  • Acquaint yourself with cross-functional teams.

First Month Expectations:

  • Complete personalized sales training, including mock calls and role-plays.
  • Accurately articulate Toptal's value proposition and process.
  • Effectively handle incoming leads, understand client needs, overcome objections, and close suitable leads.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure prospect progression.
  • Begin closing new business with discretion and independent judgment.

First Three Months Expectations:

  • Be fully ramped up and integrated into the team.
  • Complete additional vertical-specific training.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects.
  • Achieve sales goals.

First Six Months Expectations:

  • Establish a solid track record of closing new business and meeting sales goals.
  • Identify process improvements to increase team efficiency.
  • Implement sales best practices for client interactions.

First Year Expectations:

  • Mentor new team members.
  • Continue to gain and close new business, managing your funnel to exceed sales targets.
  • Become a productive, collaborative, and consistent team contributor.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-3 years of B2B sales experience (e.g., Account Executive, Inside Sales, Outside Sales Representative).
  • Software or tech-related sales experience and education are a plus.
  • Attentive to client needs and fully available during working hours for client calls.
  • Client-centric approach, uncovering and resolving issues through value-based selling.
  • "Will-to-win" attitude, driven to exceed quotas (base salary + uncapped commission).

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
