About the Role
Toast is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join its FinTech Integrated Payments team in Bangalore. This role is pivotal in testing features for international customers and enterprise integrations, ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of Toast's platform. You will be a key technologist contributing to the growth of the Fintech business, working on a system essential to restaurant operations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product, Design (UI), and Development stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Create and implement comprehensive test plans.
- Conduct and participate in test plan and test strategy reviews.
- Test new features and regressions across hardware and software products.
- Create defects for requirement deviations, assign priority and severity, and escalate as needed.
- Assist project teams in defect triage, reproduction, debugging customer issues, and validating fixes.
- Attend sprint ceremonies.
- Work with other QA engineers and developers to adapt a test automation strategy.
- Increase automation test case coverage by developing reusable scripts and improving release testing efficiency.
- Contribute to product design and roadmap discussions from a quality perspective.
- Stay current with tools such as Jira, Confluence, TestRail, and automation products.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
- Ability to learn and understand complex business logic and devise creative testing approaches.
- Experience designing and delivering test plans for significant components, feature sets, mid-size applications, or services.
- Solid understanding of test strategies and methodologies (e.g., API testing with Postman, Web Application testing, Mobile Apps, Automated testing with Selenium, Playwright).
- Appetite for automation, with awareness of automation frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
- Proven ability to provide useful feedback on changes and ensure test plan, script, and test case reviews are efficient.
- Experience creating maintainable and reusable automation test scripts that identify bugs accurately and avoid false positives.
- Demonstrated ability to improve team testing processes and question defined test sets.
- Established good working relationships with team members and peers.
- Commitment to quality, user experience, and a "get unblocked" attitude for continuous learning and problem-solving.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
