✨ AI Insights & Summary

Knuddels is on a mission to redefine social networking by fostering genuine human connection over content consumption. This role offers a pivotal opportunity to leverage data science and analysis to drive product improvements and shape the company's data strategy. You'll not only analyze complex data but also lead a growing data science team, bridging the gap between technical insights and business strategy in a dynamic, B2C environment. If you're passionate about data-driven decision-making and leading a team to build a data culture, this position is an exceptional fit.

Data Scientist / Team Lead (m/f/d)

Knuddels aims to make social networks truly social again, focusing on genuine human connection. With 100,000 daily members generating millions of events, data analysis is key to understanding and improving the user experience.

Your Tasks

  • Hands-on Data Analysis & Data Science: Analyze complex data using techniques like Data Mining, Clustering, Forecasting, and Recommendation Classification. Ensure data accuracy across systems and establish best practices (e.g., code reviews, documentation).
  • Enable Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze data, prepare understandable results, and derive concrete strategic measures. Collaborate closely with Product Management, Community Management, and Executive Leadership as a strategic partner. Combine quantitative analysis with qualitative community feedback for informed decision-making.
  • Team Leadership & Data Culture: Lead the transformation of the Data Science area. Take on functional and eventually disciplinary leadership of a small team, fostering their development and structuring the department. Define the long-term data strategy with executive leadership and establish a data culture.

What We Offer

  • Flexibility: Up to 100% Remote Work, trust-based working hours, and 10 additional unpaid "Flexi-Holiday" days on top of 30 vacation days.
  • Team Spirit: An open, respectful, and cooperative culture with mutual support.

  • Product Focus: Work on our own B2C product and see the immediate impact on our community.
  • Excellent Equipment: High-quality technical equipment provided. Subsidy for a mobile air conditioner for fully remote workers.
  • Office Perks (Karlsruhe): Prime location with a free breakfast buffet, daily fresh lunch, air conditioning, and a large rooftop terrace.
  • Health Support: Subsidy for gym/sports club memberships.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent qualification.
  • Business Understanding: Ability to analyze, explain, and translate data into practical business value. Think in solutions for the product, not just algorithms.
