The Role

As the Strategic Business Development Manager – Port Solutions, you will be instrumental in developing and growing OceanScore’s relationships within the global port ecosystem. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial position that combines strategic thinking with active commercial development. You will identify and advance strategic opportunities, collaborate with product and data teams to shape port-specific solutions, and serve as a trusted advisor to port authorities on leveraging emissions data for environmental transparency, incentive design, and regulatory alignment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Networking: Build and maintain a robust network across the global port ecosystem, establishing OceanScore as a trusted partner for emissions intelligence and environmental transparency.
  • Commercial Development: Identify, structure, and advance high-value partnership opportunities with ports worldwide, cultivating a strong pipeline of strategic collaborations.
  • Strategic Product Development: Collaborate closely with Product and Data teams to translate port needs into enhanced port solutions and incentive schemes.
  • Strategic Partnership Development: Assist port authorities and industry stakeholders in understanding how vessel emissions data can inform environmental policies, differentiated port dues, incentive schemes, and reporting frameworks.
  • Scheme Expansion: Evaluate the integration of existing port incentive schemes into the OceanScore environment, coordinating stakeholder discussions and negotiations, and managing operational follow-through.

What You Bring

  • Strong experience in maritime, port governance, maritime sustainability, or maritime strategy.
  • Proven track record in strategic partnerships, business development, or ecosystem development.
  • Solid understanding of environmental and regulatory pressures facing ports, including maritime emissions frameworks and port climate objectives.
  • Familiarity with port incentive mechanisms, such as differentiated port dues and initiatives like the Environmental Ship Index (ESI).
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders in the port or maritime sector and building trust-based relationships.
  • An established network within the port community (e.g., through IAPH or similar organizations) is highly valuable.
