MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

As a Tech Linguistic Tester, your primary responsibility will be to proofread and edit content already localized into your native language. You will meticulously check for errors in grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, political correctness, inconsistencies, and spacing. Additionally, you will sometimes translate content from English to your native language and perform UI testing to identify functional issues.

Responsibilities

• Write and report relevant bugs and errors using best practices via an internal database system.
• Prioritize and execute tasks and issues quickly and efficiently.
• Apply native language skills and cultural awareness to ensure linguistic accuracy and appropriateness.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Maintain a high level of organization with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Perform QA on various products by accurately following testing instructions and test cases.
• Discover and report defects (bugs) using client-specific bug tracking tools.
• Evaluate translations within the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for linguistic issues in the target language, researching and resolving linguistic questions.
• Adhere to project-specific quality standards, trademarks, style guides, and client-preferred checklists and glossaries.
• Troubleshoot basic problems and escalate testing issues effectively.
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with high quality.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

• Native-level or fully bilingual fluency (spoken and written) in the required language(s).
• Up-to-date awareness of current and common technical language usage in the target language.
• Strong English skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with MS applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to navigate networks and websites across different browsers.
• Basic knowledge of PC hardware (desktop and laptop) and smartphones (iPhone or Android).
• Familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems.
• 3+ years of professional translation & localization experience.
• Familiarity with native culture and trends.
• Active user of social media, including familiarity with Facebook Family of Apps.
• Experience with consumer devices related to messaging, health, fitness, calendar, and organization.
