What You Can Do For Expel

In this role, you will improve our core product, Workbench, which enables our analysts to make decisions quickly and share those decisions with our customers. This involves:

• Conducting user and market research to understand personas, use cases, and jobs to be done.
• Synthesizing research insights and presenting findings to team members and leadership.
• Collaborating closely with engineers to understand technical constraints and opportunities for creative experimentation.
• Designing lean experiments to test hypotheses, measure outcomes, and iterate rapidly.
• Thinking big picture and guiding product vision with other collaborators.
• Partnering with product management, engineering, UX, and Secure Operations leadership to ensure we are addressing the right problems with the best solutions for product scaling.

What You Should Bring With You

• Strong UX design practice, particularly in research, prototyping, interaction design, design systems, and workshop facilitation.
• Curiosity and willingness to dive into technical details with engineers when needed.
• Experience designing workflows and communicating information to users for informed decision-making.
• Proficiency in effective low-fi sketching and prototyping for rapid feedback and iteration, with a willingness to discard and retry.
• Clear articulation of design problems, tradeoffs made, and the impact of different approaches.
• High comfort level making decisions with incomplete information and learning from mistakes.
• Strong communication skills to keep product partners informed about project direction and upcoming developments.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience on a cross-functional product team, collaborating with product managers and engineers.
• Experience in the cybersecurity domain is preferred, but not required.
• Experience with SaaS, e-commerce, productivity software, or industrial applications is beneficial.
• Proficiency with a popular UX design tool (Figma preferred).
• Experience experimenting with and adopting AI in workflows.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Additional Notes

• Salary Range: €77,600.00 - €112,500.00 + bonus eligibility and equity.
• Location: Remote position within Ireland.
• Work Model: Primarily remote, with in-person collaboration in Dublin approximately once per month and team touchdowns 3-4 times per year.
