About the Role

The Delivery Manager (DM) for Scientific Services is primarily accountable for fulfilling all contractual obligations for Zifo related to customer engagements. This role acts as the single point of contact for both customers and internal Zifo stakeholders for specific engagements. The DM will provide strategic and technical leadership, consulting, and program/project management skills to ensure Zifo successfully delivers solutions meeting customer objectives.

Note: This is a hybrid role requiring regular presence onsite at the client location around Boston, MA. This role is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Overall accountability for the successful delivery of all projects and Zifo services within an engagement, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Govern Project Health using metrics-based health checks and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Chair Engagement Steering Committee and other operational meetings, tracking action items and reporting progress.
  • Conceive and implement engagement improvement plans from a service delivery optimization perspective.
  • Devise and implement continuous improvement plans for mutual gains.
  • Oversee engagement operations including staffing, invoicing compliance, contract renewals, and resource management.
  • Manage customer relationships across all levels to improve customer maturity.
  • Manage CSAT assessment and implement focused improvement plans.
  • Contribute to Business Development through Account Mining and supporting RFP/Pursuits.
  • Provide performance feedback on Zifo resources to line managers.
  • Offer strategic project and program management consultative guidance, proactively identifying business/technical challenges or improvement opportunities.
  • Provide thought leadership by offering proactive insights into industrial trends.
  • Manage, motivate, and mentor cross-functional and enterprise project teams globally.
  • Ensure seamless customer experience across various Zifo service teams and geographies.
  • Resolve conflicts between Zifo service lines, prioritizing customer interests.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for Zifo, providing timely resolution and conducting retrospectives.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop relationships at all client/stakeholder levels.
  • Experience managing large-scale ($5,000,000 +) programs and projects, preferably globally.
  • R&D Informatics Skills:
  • Prior experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech Research and Development industry.
  • Understanding of Drug Discovery & Development processes.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and results-driven mentality.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly acquire new technical skills & business principles.
  • Ability to actively contribute to business development efforts.
  • Working experience with productivity tools (VISIO, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Project).

  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience making impactful presentations to D+ and C-Suite audiences.
  • Program Management Skills:
  • Managing a portfolio of projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in Management, Life Sciences, or IT field is mandatory.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Business Technology Consultant/Project Manager.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience working with a customer/client-focused delivery model & global solution deployment, preferably in the pharmaceutical/Life sciences industry.
  • Active PMP / PgMP/Prince2 Certification.
  • Experienced in managing large customer engagements ($5M+ revenue / 50+ global team) with multiple services offered.
  • Expert in Project Management, SDLC types, and people management.
  • Familiar with the global delivery model and experience working with multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Consultative capabilities to convert business problems into opportunities.
  • Flexible in handling tactical issues and strategic thinking.
  • Expert in crisis/problem management and willingness to get hands-on for problem resolution.
  • Ability to function as a coach to teams to improve collaboration and outcomes.
  • Innovative mindset with an eye for continuous improvement.
  • Experienced in managing large & concurrent projects/programs.
