Role Overview

The Veterinary Assistant plays a crucial role, working closely with veterinarians to deliver exceptional patient care. This position involves client communication, generating and presenting treatment plans, managing the doctor's schedule, and assisting in the execution of treatments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care, including vaccinations, blood draws, catheter placement, nail trims, and ear cleaning.
  • Generate treatment plans in Avimark based on veterinary recommendations and present them to clients for approval.
  • Perform specimen collection and basic laboratory work.
  • Operate x-ray equipment and take photographs.
  • Engage in client relations through outbound calls and face-to-face interactions.
  • Update patient medical records accurately.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through outstanding service.
  • Educate clients on available products and services.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including availability until 7 PM and participation in a rotating weekend schedule.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior clinical experience is desired.
  • Prior Avimark experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual applicants are welcome.
