About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst who excels as both an owner and a problem-solver, ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing for our US and Canadian employees. Sitting within the Finance organization, you will partner closely with HR, Legal, Benefits, and Stock Administration, playing a critical role in payroll accuracy, compliance, and system optimization within Workday. This is a dynamic role that requires precision and adaptability.
As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you will:

- Lead payroll system operations in Workday, including configuration, EIB uploads, report building, and issue troubleshooting.
- Manage equity compensation payroll events (RSUs, NSOs, ISOs), ensuring proper taxation and reconciliation.
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, GL account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance across all US federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Canadian provincial requirements.
- Own year-end payroll processes, including W-2, T4, and T2200 preparation, reconciliations, and filings.
- Drive process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Support audits and SOX compliance efforts.
You’ll be a great addition to the team if:
- You thrive in high-growth, fast-moving environments, balancing speed with precision.
- You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and can independently prioritize competing deadlines.
- You have experience in SOX-controlled environments and understand the importance of documentation.
- You have experience with Workday Payroll implementations, upgrades, or system enhancements.
- You take a proactive, ownership-driven approach to problem-solving.
- You are a strong cross-functional partner, building trust with various departments and external vendors.
- You enjoy detailed analysis and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
At a minimum, you need to have:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing payroll in Workday, with Workday Payroll as the primary system of record.
- Proven experience running full-cycle payroll for US (multi-state) and Canadian employees.
- Deep understanding of equity compensation payroll, including RSU, NSO, and ISO taxation and processing.
- Experience supporting month-end close, including journal entries and GL account reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of US payroll tax laws and working knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, large datasets).
