Social Media Manager at AirDNA
About AirDNA
AirDNA is the leading provider of data and business intelligence for the multi-billion-dollar travel and short-term rental industry. Since 2015, we've empowered Airbnb hosts, property managers, and enterprise clients with smart, competitive insights. Our platform tracks millions of listings globally, providing the most accurate short-term rental dataset. With the recent acquisition of Uplisting, a property management software, we now support the entire short-term rental journey, from investment to operations.
Our team is a curious, driven, and kind group guided by our values: Happy, Hungry, Honest. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don’t check every box. Passion, potential, and perspective matter here.
The Role
AirDNA provides this role with a constant, ownable stream of proprietary data that no competitor can replicate. You will own the system that turns this data into compounding organic growth across all channels, including YouTube as an acquisition channel, podcast distribution, creator amplification, and executive thought leadership. This is an established function with room to build something bigger, shipping independently with full ownership over creative direction, production spend, tools, and content strategy. You will report to the Sr. Comms Manager and work alongside dedicated research, PR, and Content teams. Every major activity is expected to tie back to traffic, sign-ups, or pipeline.
What You'll Do:
Organic Social Strategy
- Own AirDNA’s presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube with channel-specific follower, impression, engagement, and conversion targets.
- Transform AirDNA’s proprietary data into social-native formats that resonate beyond our existing audience, including market rankings, supply trends, and revenue benchmarks.
- Build a measurement system that ties social activity to traffic, sign-ups, and pipeline, and own the monthly report for leadership. Focus on tangible results, not vanity metrics.
- Partner with the Paid team to ensure organic and paid social efforts reinforce the same narrative and amplify top-performing organic creative.
YouTube as an Acquisition Channel
- Own YouTube content strategy in partnership with Content, Creative, and PMM, defining formats, cadence, and engaging content.
- Treat YouTube as an acquisition channel with measurable conversion to product sign-ups, not merely a video archive.
- Manage freelance video production and editing to ensure on-time, on-brand delivery.
- Utilize AI tooling to compress production cycles and multiply output volume.
STR Data Lab Podcast Growth
- Own the quarterly podcast content calendar in partnership with the host, aligned with ICP needs, SEO priorities, and industry trends.
- Source and prep guests whose own audiences contribute to compounding distribution back to AirDNA.
- Repurpose each episode into a full set of distributable assets: clips, quote cards, LinkedIn posts, YouTube uploads, newsletter blurbs.
- Drive listener growth quarter-on-quarter against a baseline set in the first 30 days.
Executive Thought Leadership
- Own the thought leadership strategy for the CEO, including ghostwriting LinkedIn posts, advising on content angles, and building a consistent public voice.
- Support the Chief Economist with distribution strategy and content guidance to systematize and scale his existing audience momentum.
- Identify two to three additional internal voices within the first 90 days and build a lightweight program around them, briefing and iterating with executives weekly.
- Build an employee advocacy infrastructure to make it easy for AirDNA employees to share, engage, and act as brand ambassadors.
Creator and Influencer Amplification
- Partner with the Community Lead to amplify top-performing creators through organic social and white-labeled boosting.
- Build and maintain a measurement layer demonstrating which creators and campaigns drive traffic and sign-ups.
- Keep top partners engaged, informed, and active without it becoming a full-time relationship management job.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Native-level fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- 6+ years of experience running organic social for a B2B SaaS, B2C, PLG, or media brand, with a proven track record of channel growth and measurable results. Experience in the STR industry or data companies is a strong plus.
- AI is your default tool; you leverage AI tools like Claude, Descript, ElevenLabs, and Figma Make to increase speed, output, and efficiency.
- Deep understanding of YouTube as a media product, including titles, thumbnails, hooks, retention, CTAs, and search optimization. You can intuitively assess why a video might underperform.
- A strong creative eye and sufficient hands-on production skills to move quickly when necessary. Ability to create assets in Canva, direct designers with clear briefs, and discern when each approach is appropriate.
- Proficiency in podcast distribution beyond basic publishing. Experience in owning, producing, or driving growth for a podcast, including audience building, sourcing influential guests, and transforming episodes into content engines.
- Creator and influencer experience, including building briefs, amplifying top content, and managing relationships efficiently.
- Proven experience ghostwriting for an executive or founder, with the ability to detail your process for capturing voice, managing feedback, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience owning and managing budget independently, including creative fees, production spend, and tools, with comfort in making trade-off decisions.
- A results-oriented approach, measuring work by outcomes driven rather than reach achieved. Ability to build a reporting framework from scratch and differentiate genuine growth from superficial metrics.
- Enthusiasm for the B2B/SaaS/tech space, understanding data-driven brands, prosumer audiences, and what resonates with operators, investors, and hosts.
