Job Description
As an IT Business Partner, you are responsible for the successful rollout of new retail-related tech capabilities, ensuring alignment with German legislation. You will play a key role in making complex technology simple and accessible for all stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate the end-to-end implementation of tech solutions across the German market.
- Translate complex IT systems and their components into clear insights for diverse stakeholders.
- Take a leading role in negotiations with the works council, ensuring transparency, compliance, and a collaborative approach.
- Work closely with the IT experts within the works council, fostering a strong partnership built on trust and technical expertise.
- Oversee legal and regulatory compliance, particularly with Betriebsverfassungsgesetz (BetrVG) and data protection laws, integrating these into IT and operational strategies.
- Drive digital transformation and innovation, ensuring that technology supports business growth, operational efficiency, and an improved customer experience.
- Ensure the successful implementation of IT updates and products by translating global rollout plans into locally adapted execution.
- Facilitate a smooth handover of implemented solutions to business and Tech operations in line with global standards.
Who You’ll Work With
As part of the Tech team, you will play a vital role in implementing digital solutions that enhance our IT landscape. You’ll work closely with Business, Legal, and Tech, ensuring that our technology drives efficiency and business success. Reporting to our Lead Tech Project Manager, you will also partner with internal tech, labor law & labor relations specialists, works council, and external tech consultants to ensure seamless alignment between tech innovation, business needs, and compliance requirements.
Who You Are
We are looking for people with:
- Experience in managing or implementing IT or digital projects, ideally in a retail or multi-site environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align different interests and navigate complex environments.
- In-depth knowledge of IT systems, particularly SAP and Microsoft products.
- Proven ability to explain complex IT systems in an understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, effectively conveying information and ideas across different audiences.
- Experience in negotiations, ensuring compliance with Betriebsverfassungsgesetz (BetrVG).
- Expertise in conflict resolution and finding common ground.
- Full proficiency in both German and English.

This is a full-time position, based in Hamburg, following a hybrid working model with four days per week in the office. The role also requires willingness to travel between Berlin and Hamburg based on business needs.
