About the Role
Pulley is seeking experienced licensed architects and engineers to join our team. In this role, you will conduct detailed reviews of commercial plan sets, identifying code compliance findings across crucial disciplines such as egress, fire-resistance, accessibility, structural, and MEP.
Who You Are
Option 1: Senior Project Architect or Technical Architect
- 15+ years of commercial experience with extensive hands-on QA/QC, permit, and correction-letter experience.
- Daily code reading and a strong ability to cite IBC tables behind findings.
- Comfortable reviewing plans on-screen within a web application.
Option 2: Municipal Plans Examiner or 3rd Party Plan Reviewer
- 10+ years of commercial experience with extensive hands-on permit and correction-letter experience.
- ICC certification (Building/Combination/Fire Plans Examiner or MCP) or equivalent is required.
- Comfortable reviewing plans on-screen within a web application.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed reviews of architectural and engineering plans for code compliance, missing information, and inconsistencies.
- Evaluate review comments and markups for accuracy and clarity of compliance rationale.
- Provide concise written clarifications of reviews and compliance rationale.
- Utilize a simple web-based application for plan review, demonstrating comfort with screens and PDF plan review processes.
Key Qualifications
- A licensed or credentialed specialist: RA, PE/SE, FPE, CASp, or relevant ICC specialty certification (e.g., Accessibility, Fire, Structural, Energy Plans Examiner; MCP).
- For Option 1: 15+ years of experience in commercial construction with robust skills in plans coordination, review, and QA/QC.
- For Option 2: ICC Certified Building, Combination, or Fire Plans Examiner — or Master Code Professional (or equivalent), with 10+ years of commercial experience, including 5+ years of commercial plan review at a relevant authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) or third-party review firm.
- (Plus) CASp certification or specific California/Florida code experience (CBC, Title 24, FBC).
- (Plus) Prior third-party or peer review work for jurisdictions.
Compensation
- $125–150/hr
- 1099 contract
- Remote and flexible hours (~8–24 hrs/month to start, work at your own pace).
