Job Description

Pulley is hiring licensed architects and engineers to conduct detailed reviews of commercial plan sets. You will produce structured IBC code compliance findings across various disciplines, ensuring projects meet regulatory standards.

Who You Are

Option 1:

  • A Senior Project Architect or Technical Architect with 15+ years of commercial experience.
  • Extensive hands-on QA/QC, permit/correction-letter experience, and daily code review practice.
  • Ability to cite IBC tables and comfortably review plans on-screen via a web application.

Option 2:

  • A current or former municipal plans examiner or 3rd party plan reviewer.
  • 10+ years of commercial experience and extensive hands-on permit/correction-letter experience.
  • ICC certification (Building/Combination/Fire Plans Examiner or MCP) or equivalent required.
  • Comfort reviewing plans on-screen via a web application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed reviews of plans for code compliance, identify missing information, and flag inconsistencies.
  • Evaluate review comments and markups for accuracy and clarify compliance rationale.
  • Provide concise written clarifications of review findings and compliance rationale.
  • Utilize a web-app interface for plan review; comfort with screens and PDF plan review is essential.

Key Qualifications

Option 1:

  • A licensed or credentialed specialist: RA, PE/SE, FPE, CASp, or ICC specialty certification (Accessibility, Fire, Structural, or Energy Plans Examiner; MCP).
  • 15+ years of experience in commercial construction with robust skills in plans coordination, review, and QA/QC.

Option 2:

  • ICC Certified Building, Combination, or Fire Plans Examiner — or Master Code Professional (or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of commercial experience, including 5+ years of commercial plan review at an AHJ or third-party review firm.
  • (Plus) CASp certification or CA/FL code experience (CBC, Title 24, FBC).
  • (Plus) Prior third-party or peer review work for jurisdictions.

Compensation

  • $125–150/hr
  • 1099 contract
  • Remote and flexible hours (~8–24 hrs/month to start, set your own pace).
