The Opportunity: Corporate Strategy Lead

In this role, you will own and drive Quantinuum’s corporate strategy, translating complex quantum innovation into clear strategic choices, aligned priorities, and executable plans across hardware, software, services, commercial, and business functions. Your accountability will be ensuring long-term ambition is converted into measurable business outcomes, disciplined resource allocation, and durable market leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development (STRAP) Process Leadership

• Own the end-to-end STRAP process, delivering a clear, multi-year corporate strategy with explicit choices, integrated priorities, and outcome-linked plans across all functions.

Closed-Loop Strategy Execution

• Own a closed-loop execution framework, translating strategy into measurable initiatives, KPIs/OKRs, and governance cadences for delivery, accountability, and course correction.

Enterprise Business Planning Process

• Own the annual and multi-year business planning process, ensuring plans, targets, and operational commitments align with strategic priorities across technical, commercial, and business functions.

Vertical Strategy Development

• Own the development of vertical strategies, defining market focus (where to play) and competitive approach (how to win) from a vertical/customer-back perspective, including use-case prioritization and strategic narratives.

Value Chain and Platform Strategy Development

• Collaborate with technical leadership and the VP Corporate Development to define Quantinuum’s platform and value chain strategy, determining market segments, partnership approaches, and monetization strategies.

Full-Stack Strategic Alignment

• Own the integration of strategy across hardware, software, applications, commercial, and business functions, driving alignment, trade-offs, and execution discipline at the enterprise level.

Portfolio, Investment, and Resource Planning & Management

• Own the enterprise portfolio and resource allocation framework, prioritizing investments and capacity across functions to maximize strategic impact.

Market, Competitive, Customer, and Strategic Intelligence

• Own the strategic intelligence agenda, delivering continuous insights on customers, competitors, and market dynamics to inform decision-making.

Strategic Initiatives Portfolio Governance

• Own the definition, prioritization, and governance of enterprise strategic initiatives, ensuring clear ownership, resourcing, and delivery.

Executive & BoD Engagement

• Lead strategy engagement with the Executive Team and Board of Directors, providing high-quality strategic narratives, decision materials, and recommendations.

Internal Strategy Communication

• Translate strategy into clear and consistent internal narratives in partnership with Marketing, ensuring organization-wide understanding and alignment.

Must Haves:

• Enterprise Strategy Leadership in Deep Tech (10+ years): Proven ownership of corporate strategy in a complex, R&D-led environment (e.g., quantum, AI, semiconductors, advanced computing), with accountability for shaping long-term direction and influencing executive and Board-level decisions.

• Structured Problem Solving & Planning Rigor: Experience in strategic planning, scenario analysis, and portfolio prioritization in ambiguous environments.
• Operating in Ambiguity: Comfort navigating long time horizons, evolving technologies, and uncertain market dynamics.
• Stakeholder Leadership & Gravitas: Ability to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.

Compensation:

• Annual Salary Range: $324,000 - $425,000. Actual compensation will vary based on candidate's skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
• Incentive Eligible – Range posted includes bonus target where applicable.
