The Role: Clinical Program Pharmacist

Arine seeks a Clinical Program Pharmacist to join a dynamic team of clinicians, data scientists, and engineers. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining Arine’s software platform and optimizing patient outcomes for clients. This role involves supervising and maintaining the clinical quality of product content, assisting in clinical program development, and serving as a liaison for patients and external providers as the platform expert. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Implementation, Client Success, and Data Analyst teams, and stay abreast of new developments in the pharmaceutical field.

The Clinical Program Pharmacist functions under the supervision of Clinical Program Pharmacist Leads and the VP of Clinical Programs, carrying out direct patient care responsibilities and program development.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Respond to provider, internal/external user, client success, and leadership inquiries as the platform subject matter expert.
  • Triage bugs for urgency and priority.
  • Improve clinical algorithms, workflows, and performance metrics based on new quality measures and clinical guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively (written and oral) to interpret and resolve clinical issues or collaborate on new solutions with various stakeholders (engineering, product, clinical care team, clients).
  • Develop intervention strategies to optimize medication utilization, achieve quality measures, and meet established goals.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing of clinical outputs.
  • Assist in preparing customer demonstrations and testing new clinical content within the Arine Platform.
  • Comply with all company policies and state and federal rules and regulations.

Who You Are and What You Bring:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college/university.
  • Licensed by a Board of Pharmacy and in good standing.
  • Completion of a PGY-1 residency or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to assess the appropriateness of medications considering age and disease-specific factors.
  • Knowledge of chronic disease states (e.g., diabetes, heart failure, COPD, asthma, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, dyslipidemia, HIV, ESRD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, thought disorders).
  • Understanding of drug activity and disposition influenced by age, sex, concomitant disease states, concurrent drug therapy, foods, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to translate clinical guidelines and technical specifications into program design.
  • Familiarity with prescription and non-prescription drugs, their indications, efficacy, dosage, mechanisms of action, contraindications, and side effects.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Proven ability to work within technical environments and manage structured data using SQL, Excel, or logic-based tools; ability to interpret pseudocode.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods, with no restrictions for keyboarding.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions independently to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, foster relationships, and build consensus.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Board certification in a relevant area.
  • Experience with pharmacy technology and EHR systems.
  • Experience with quality measures (CMS, PQA, HEDIS).
  • Experience reviewing and working with pharmacy, demographic, or medical claims.
  • Experience with drug databases.
  • Experience managing work on ticketing systems (JIRA) and documentation (Confluence).
  • Experience with HTML, JSON, or FHIR.
  • Ability to interpret health plan formulary.
