About the Role

This Business Controller position is integral to the financial activities of the Retail Channel for Salomon in the US and Canada. As a key member of the Business Controlling Team, you will be responsible for implementing Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies, steering GTM teams towards profitable growth targets, and overseeing the ongoing definition, development, and reporting within the Retail organization.

Responsibilities

Business Controlling – Planning & Control

  • Manage all aspects of the GTM financial budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with regional commercial management and global finance/commercial teams.
  • Conduct financial and business planning, steer and monitor performance, and optimize operating capital.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report financial results, including sales trends, product gross margins, average net selling price, average COGS, direct operating expenses, inventory, and balance sheet items.
  • Analyze GTM results against budget, forecast, and prior year, driving actions to meet financial targets and overall GTM objectives.
  • Sign off on month-end processes, including journal entries, OPEX control, and GM analysis in SAP.
  • Provide financial impact analysis for Retail KPIs/discounting structures, including traffic, AOV, conversion, returns, end-of-life discounting, and business case preparation for new store openings.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate managerial and legal reports using OneStream management reporting.
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews and governance meetings with Commercial Leadership and GTM teams.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses to support decision-making on channels, customers, and programs.
  • Enhance management reporting to improve communication of critical information and maintain accountability for financial performance.
  • Perform internal and external benchmark analyses to identify opportunities for operational improvement and profitable growth.

Support Sales and Operational Planning Process

  • Conduct inventory management/working capital analysis and forecasting.
  • Perform DSI/inventory turnover/sell-thru analysis.
  • Review and analyze replenishment orders.
  • Serve as the primary Finance liaison with Retail Merchandising and Marketing teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related work experience in financial analysis and business controlling.
  • Proficiency in Excel and understanding of financial metrics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or other related advanced degree is a plus.
  • SAP FICO & BI systems experience is a plus.
  • OneStream experience is a plus.
  • Modeling in AI is a plus.
  • Strong ability to build business cases, maintain a helicopter view, and possess detailed analytical skills.
  • Business Acumen, with experience in Retail being a plus.
