About the Role

We are seeking native Brazilian Portuguese speakers to join our Video Games Proofreaders team. This role requires a sharp linguistic aptitude and a passion for ensuring the quality of game content. You'll be working in a multicultural setting, contributing to the final polish of exciting video game titles.

Key Responsibilities

• Proofread game texts and content for spelling, syntax, and typography errors.
• Ensure consistency across all in-game text and recommend necessary changes.
• Document and report identified errors.
• Perform minor, simple translations as needed.
• Verify that subtitles accurately match the audio tracks.
• Communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) for team and client interactions.

Requirements

• Native proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese (written and spoken).
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Must reside in the Montreal area.
• Availability for both remote and in-office work, depending on project demands.
• Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, open work permit, or currently processing a work permit.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Comfortable with digital technologies, including computers, video game consoles, and touchscreens.
• A genuine interest in the video game industry.
• Previous experience in a similar role or related field is an asset.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $19.15
• Bonus: $2.50 per hour for work performed after 7:00 PM.
• Contracts are on-call, with potential for full-time, permanent positions and career advancement.
