The Role: Senior AI Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Strategist to lead and shape the AI vision for our clients across the private and public sectors. This role is based in our London office and offers a discretionary hybrid working model, with an expectation of at least two days per week in the office.

Who You'll Work With

You will join PA Consulting's AI practice, a global team dedicated to helping clients transform their businesses using AI. You'll work on a spectrum of projects, from advising clients on initiating their AI journeys to implementing industry-first AI solutions. Your role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology, focusing on identifying high-impact AI use cases, evaluating return on investment, and designing end-to-end AI roadmaps aligned with client objectives. You will be a key player in delivering large-scale transformation programs, guiding clients through the AI implementation lifecycle, and ensuring AI solutions meet both strategic and operational goals. You'll collaborate with colleagues across PA Consulting to deliver breakthrough solutions.

Your Impact Within Our Firm

You will engage with C-suite and senior executives to solve key business issues, providing actionable recommendations backed by your AI/technology expertise and business acumen. You'll lead teams of typically 3 to 10 consultants, managing day-to-day client project execution while keeping high-level project goals in focus. This involves information gathering and analysis, hypothesis formulation and testing, and developing recommendations for client presentations. You will also present results to client management and advise on implementation in collaboration with client teams. Beyond project delivery, you'll lead teams of consultants and experts, including AI/GenAI specialists, software developers, designers, data engineers, and agile coaches, guiding their work and developing individual team members. Additionally, you will contribute to business development activities, working with AI leadership to build client relationships and secure new projects at the forefront of AI technology.

You will receive comprehensive training, frequent coaching, and mentoring from your team members. A dedicated partner will guide your career development, complemented by formal training programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy Development: Assess business challenges, identify strategic AI use cases, and define AI roadmaps in collaboration with client stakeholders.
• Use Case Identification: Analyze business processes to discover impactful AI applications, develop ROI estimates, and prioritize projects based on feasibility and strategic value.
• AI Roadmap Creation: Design and document comprehensive AI implementation roadmaps, detailing milestones, resources, and timelines.
• Performance Measurement: Develop frameworks to track AI initiative performance against expected ROI and business value.
• Transformation Oversight: Lead large transformation programs, integrating AI solutions, ensuring alignment with client goals, and managing cross-functional teams.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a trusted advisor to client leadership, presenting recommendations, addressing risks, and guiding AI best practices.
• Industry Trends & Insights: Stay abreast of emerging AI trends and technologies, evaluating their applicability and identifying new adoption opportunities.
• Due Diligence: Lead commercial and technical due diligence for AI target companies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree, preferably in engineering, science, or another technical/related field; an advanced degree or MBA is advantageous.
• 8+ years of post-university technology- and strategy-related experience in professional services, blue-chip companies, industry, or startups, with a proven record of high performance.
• 2 years of managerial experience in top-tier strategy consulting or senior managerial experience in IT consulting.
• A combination of strong strategic and analytical abilities with a passion for technology.
• Willingness to travel.
