About the REAKTIVATOR Project

The REAKTIVATOR research project is seeking a Research and Project Engineer with a focus on engineering tasks. The project aims to develop and implement an open lightweight rail vehicle for rural areas. This initiative is part of REAKT, a transdisciplinary initiative from Schleswig-Holstein, with the goal of making rail transport more individual, attractive, safer, and economical to reliably connect rural areas. Partners from science and industry are collaboratively developing innovative solutions in R&D projects.

Your Tasks:

• Project and Research Engineering:
• Development and construction of the rail vehicles.
• Setup and commissioning.
• Testing on the research track.

Your Qualifications:

• Good design skills (ideally SolidWorks).
• Abilities for independent problem-solving.
• Understanding of technical documentation/publications.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in small teams.
• Advantageous: Knowledge in the field of rail vehicle technology and experience in prototype construction.

About the Role:

The project coordinator for this initiative is Prof. Dr.-Ing. Henning Strauß from HAW Kiel.

This position involves 38.7 hours per week and offers a high degree of creative freedom. It is to be filled as soon as possible and is initially limited until June 30, 2028, with the prospect of further extension. Compensation will be based on TVL, with potential classification up to EG13 depending on qualifications. The work location is Kiel.
