The Role

As a Backend Engineer at Kitman Labs, you will be instrumental in solving real customer problems through the smart and efficient application of your technical knowledge. You will be part of a multidisciplinary product team, collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and data analysts to build robust backend systems. Specifically, you will join the Performance Medicine team, focusing on developing the next level EMR. This software goes beyond traditional electronic medical records to drive decisions that keep high-performing athletes healthy and on the field, by working on backend systems that power a unified view of athlete health, injuries, recovery, and availability.

What You'll Be Doing

• Help design the systems behind our Performance Medicine product, from the initial technical plan through to code deployment.
• Build the Ruby services responsible for capturing and moving athlete medical data, where accuracy and privacy are paramount.
• Address the reliability and scaling challenges of a platform utilized by thousands of teams across the world's top leagues.
• Work directly with product, design, and medical/performance staff to shape the product based on their real-world needs.

What You'll Bring

• Four or more years of professional software development experience, ideally with SaaS products.
• A portfolio showcasing work that has advanced a product or team.
• Experience collaborating with product managers and designers to ship user-centric products.
• Practical experience with distributed systems.

Location

This role is remote, with the option to work from our Dublin office, conveniently located in the CHQ Building, a short walk from Connolly train station and close to major public transport routes. The office is situated near numerous shops, restaurants, and cafes.
