The Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Specialist (m/f/d) to strengthen our team in Kirchen. In this versatile role, you will be responsible for the independent execution of monthly payroll and will actively contribute to shaping central HR processes. This includes the introduction and maintenance of a grading system, ensuring compliance with the Pay Transparency Act, processing travel expense reports, and managing time tracking.

Your Responsibilities

  • Independently execute monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with all tax, social security, and labor law regulations.
  • Maintain and control master and transactional data relevant to payroll.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employees, managers, health insurance providers, authorities, and external service providers on all payroll-related matters.
  • Introduce, further develop, and continuously maintain a company-wide grading system to ensure transparent and comprehensible compensation structures.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring requirements from the Pay Transparency Act and support audit and inquiry processes.
  • Process, review, and reconcile travel expenses according to internal policies and tax regulations.
  • Manage and maintain the time tracking system, including controlling working hours, absences, and time accounts.
  • Create payroll-related certificates, reports, and statements, and support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Your Qualifications

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship, ideally with further training in payroll accounting, human resources, or payroll accounting.
  • Several years of professional experience in payroll accounting.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll tax, social security, and labor law.
  • Experience with time management and payroll systems (ZeusX & Datev) and very good MS Office skills.
  • Understanding of compensation structures, job evaluation, or grading systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the Pay Transparency Act or the willingness to delve deeply into this topic.
  • Meticulous, structured, and discreet working style with a high sense of responsibility.
  • Strong communication skills, service orientation, and enjoyment of collaborating with various stakeholders.
